It is about (1917) time.
I have asked before how it is legal for a journalist to publish national secrets and illegal for the same journalist to pass the same secrets directly to a foreign operative. Stuart Taylor Jr tells us, with apparent alarm, that "Under the Justice Department's interpretation of a 1917 espionage law, both those who leak government secrets and those who publish them are felons."
I have no problem with, and in fact encourage, the aggressive prosecution of journalist who endanger national security in their pursuit of being judge, jury and executioner of an agenda.
