Betrayed and abandoned!
The conservative activist Kate O'Beirne talked with is right, the base does and will continue to feel betrayed and abandoned.
When Republicans win elections, with the help of the conservative base, they promptly roll over, wet themselves, and are unable to stand on principle. When Republicans lose, which happens when the base is un-motivated, those Republicans remaining talk a good talk but are limited but ineffective.
How the Republicans can be so incompetent to let such a cut and dry issue, and what should be a non-political one at that, get so far out of control is unbelievable.
Is there no competent, principled conservative left to lead us?
